What a great day!
I took a break from the pre-production madness of character breakdowns and fundraising efforts to deliver the promised $1,000 donation to Zebra Youth Foundation in Orlando.
I first met the great staff of Zebra a few months before I wrote the screenplay, and I fell in love with that they stand for. Zebra is a huge inspiration for At the End of the Day. That lead to a commitment during our Kickstarter this summer that if we reached our goal of $20,000, we would donate $1,000 of that to Zebra.
The Zebra Youth Foundation provides services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and all youth (LGBT+) ages 13 – 24. The Foundation assists young people facing homelessness; bullying; physical, sexual and drug abuse; and isolation from their families with individualized programs to guide them to recovery and stability.
I know that money will go to the actual hard work of ending LGBT youth homelessness even as this film raises awareness and softens hearts towards these amazing teens.
Thank you for backing us, and than you to the fine folks at Zebra Youth Foundation for inspiring me.
Production starts in less than 3 months, so I better get back to the details.
